Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It is located in the northwest of the country. Bruges, distinguished by medieval buildings that step up to the key, a history that spans back to the Vikings, and canals that credit the city as Europe’s “Venice of the North” is one of Belgium’s crown jewels. In no other European city the look and feel of medieval time is so present as it is in Bruges. It’s port Zeebrugge is also an important centre for fishing and European trade.
