North Sikkim – An Odyssey Into The Slice of Heaven

North Sikkim – a slice of heaven in the earth where the ever-changing climate always creates an enigma, the rough terrain with diverse and colorful flora and fauna influenced by it’s own elements, a land of majestic mountains that make you bow down.

Generally the North Sikkim tour is of 3 to 5 days. It must be a guided tour from Gangtok and all the travelers must have travel permits from Gangtok prior to the visit. Mangan is the headquarter of the district. The road from Mangan goes straight to Chungthang. At 5,600 ft., Chungthang is another major town from which the roads are bifurcated. The left road goes to Lachen, the base from where tours to Gurudongmar lake and Chopta valley is organized and the right road reaches Lachung, the base for your tours to Yumthang valley.

The whole journey is full of unfamiliar experiences. As the roads wind upwards, landscape and climate change rapidly. With the snow peak mountains that step up to the deep blue sky, the narrow streams, the lonely Lung-Tas (Horizontal Prayer Flags) waving leisurely at the distant mountain top – your mind unknowingly starts savouring the pristine beauty of nature.

Double Protection 😛 😀
